The consistent intake of Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to benefit sufferers of ADHD especially in the sense of the impulsive behaviors.

There have been a great number of studies performed over recent years to study the effect of Omega 3 fatty acids and ADHD and most of them were conclusive to the point that it has shown that fatty acid intake in needed amounts can reduce the hyperactivity and impulsive actions most commonly associated with ADHD.

With 7.4% of the world’s youth affected by ADHD and the growing costs of various medical related expenses, it is good to know that the use of Omega 3 supplements have been shown to be just as, if not more, beneficial than that of taking the expensive Ritalin which is also known to have a number of side effects as well as the possibility of being abused and used as a narcotic by those who do not have an appropriate prescription for the medication.

One of the biggest problems when dealing with children and the intake of Omega 3 is there is often a fishy aftertaste, but luckily there are many different supplemental pills based on Omega 3 which do not have this issue with regurgitated or fishy tastes.

Furthermore, the potential of reflexive taste and odors that are most commonly associated with the use of pure fish oil is also bypassed when using many of the better quality Omega 3 supplemental pills.

It is important to remember though that prior to changing medications or starting any new medication regimens that you speak to a qualified professional regarding the possible side effects and benefits that the new regimen offers even if it is a naturally occurring substance like that of Omega 3.
